1) A metrosexual is defined as a man who uses hair products, loves clothes and shopping for them, and is sensitive and romantic. Another way is saying, a man who seems to be gay except he likes women.
The author relates it to a larger argument that men are acting this way to fulfill a need that is displaced when they have money for other people to do their hard work. They think that they should act this way to fall in love which would bring about a similar satisfaction of what hard work and accomplishment used to bring them.
2)The stake in the definition of the term is the stereotypical manly man. Women are having a hard time finding them. They are becoming a dying breed.
3) The persuasion that I found effective would be her relating the metrosexual trend to consumerism. That men are now more involved in fashion and soap operas was a good point to bring up how different men are becoming from the sterotypical man. Also, the note of propaganda that influences a nation is like consumerism influincing the men of today.
